How long does a typical floor installation take?

Typically it takes 2-5 days depending on the material you decide to choose

Do you offer warranties on flooring and installation?

All floors have a 1 year warranty

What should i do to prepare for flooring installation?

We advise to keep all children and pets away from the work area, move electronics and empty all furniture for ease of relocation.

What types of flooring materials do you install in Calgary?

Carpet, Luxury vinyl plank, Luxury vinyl tile, Sheet vinyl, linoleum, safety flooring

How much does the flooring installation cost?

Installation cost is calculated by sqft and type of material you want to install

What should I expect during the installation process?

You can expect the process of floor installation to produce debris and noise.

Do you provide free floor estimates?

Yes we provide free floor estimates

Who is responsible for removing my appliances, baseboards and furniture?

At R&R Home Concepts we are dedicated to accommodating as much of your needs as possible, yes we will move basic furniture under the condition it is emptied, remove and reinstall old or new baseboards. We value the safety of our team and understand we are not equipped to move heavy furniture or appliances, we are more then happy to help refer you to a moving specialist.

Do they have to replace the whole floor or part of it?

We are able to replace sections of flooring needing repair or new install (carpet, vinyl plank, vinyl tile), their will be a wear and tear difference between old and new. All this is only possible if the client has existing flooring or the flooring is not discontinued.

How much is floor prep gonna be?

Floor prep can be anywhere between 1-3$ per sqft this price does not include types of flooring that need vapor barrier, glue, addition of subfloor

Can you go over the old flooring?

If the old floor is secured and stable we can but there are limitations and it is highly recommended you do not.

Can I opt out of floor prep?

We understand that some clients would like to opt out of floor prep, without floor prep we cannot ensure your new flooring is up to its potential lifespan. If you choose to opt out of floor prep we are unable to offer warranty and you will assume all liability.

How experienced is your flooring team?

Do you help with flooring design and material selection?

We are able to assist you in design and any material selection questions you have

When is it safe to move furniture back in after having your floors replaced?

We recommend 24 hours to allow the floor to cure and settle, If carpet is installed you are free to move after installation

Should i remove the sink and toilet in the washroom?

We recommended to remove the toilet, at an additional small fee our team is able to do that for you

What if my subfloor is damaged, does it need to be fixed?

Unfortunately if it is damaged we are not able to install until its repaired

Are stairs a different cost?

Yes stairs are a different fee and the complexity of the stairs will effect the cost

What do i do with the old flooring?

You have the option of disposing it yourself or for an additional fee we are able to dispose of the flooring for you

What is a disposal fee?

Disposal fee will include Bin rental if needed, transportation, landfill fee, labor

Do i have to pick up the materials?

For a small transportation fee we are able to pick up the materials for you or you can provide the materials on sight

Do i have to prepay for materials?

Yes our policy is for all materials to be prepaid for before any work is done, this ensures your commitment to getting a new floor

What if my house has asbestos ?

we are able to refer you to a specialist who is certified in handling asbestos

What is a tool fee?

Tools over time do go through wear/tear and we want to ensure our tools are able to properly handle the job, Tool fee can also include any special tool rentals needed to complete your flooring

Installation Warranty

What is considered failed installation

Separated seams

(Not properly acclimatising flooring, Failure to roll glued down flooring, loose flooring)

Not a clean finish

(gaps from baseboards, unfinished transitions between types of floorings, Gaps around door frames, house structure, appliances, lose transitions into stair cases)

Warranty will be void with improper care/failure to follow instruction during curing phase of flooring (24 hours after installation)

What is not covered

Everyday Wear and Tear:

Scratches, dents, and minor damage from regular use are not covered.

Damage from Improper Use:

This includes damage from pets, furniture, or improper cleaning.

Acts of Nature:

Damage from flooding, extreme humidity, or other natural events.

Installation modifications or alterations:

Any modifications/reno/alterations of flooring not the original installer, warranty is voided.

Failure to Maintain:

Not following installation instructions for curing and maintenance.

Squeaking or Noises:

Squeaking or creaking floors are often caused by wear and tear issues, are generally not covered.

Damage or renovations from third-parties:

Owners will be held liable for damage or repairs needed from other contractors, companies or services.

Manufacture Defects:

Please keep all receipts for flooring as Home Concepts isn't liable for defects or damage during transportation
